AppRadio knows entertainment, so we have built in the ability not only to play the songs stored on your smartphone, but also to stream them via Bluetooth® from your favorite music app.

AppRadio 3 offers full featured streaming capabilities as well as control of supported app functions using touch and motion gestures on a high resolution 7-inch capacitive touchscreen.

BLUETOOTH STREAMING

To utilize all the connectivity options available with today’s most popular smartphones, AppRadio 3 offers Bluetooth hands-free calling, audio streaming and wireless control of compatible devices. Each model includes Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) for wireless audio streaming and Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) version 1.3 for wireless control of devices and related metadata (if available) to be viewed directly on the AppRadio touchscreen display.

With the addition of MirrorLink™ and other connectivity solutions like Bluetooth streaming, AppRadio really knows how to make your car a connected car

APPRADIO IS SMART

In addition to iOS and Android capabilities, AppRadio 3 introduces compatibility with MirrorLink, an in-vehicle connectivity standard created by the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC). MirrorLink technology enables consumers to connect compatible smartphones to AppRadio 3 (or other compatible in-dash receivers) via a Pioneer USB cable (sold separately) to access certain music and map applications for a more convenient and safer in-car experience. Similar to AppRadio Mode, MirrorLink is now integrated into AppRadio 3 and offers a vehicle-specific interface and connectivity with MirrorLink certified devices from smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung, Nokia and others. MirrorLink gives you a custom interface so you can access your music, map services and your phone to make calls on-the-go, hands-free of course.

HANDS-FREE VOICE CONTROL

Users of iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 devices can take advantage of Siri™ Eyes Free functionality with a touch of the AppRadio 3 touchscreen. When activated, Siri voice prompts play through the vehicle’s speakers and the user’s questions and commands are received and transmitted using the external microphone provided with AppRadio 3. Siri Eyes Free provides access to many iPhone functions, such as music selection, listening to and composing text messages, Maps, calendar information, reminders.

Users of compatible voice-enabled Android smartphones can utilize voice recognition using Pioneer’s free of charge CarMediaPlayer app. Users can simply touch the voice icon on the display of the receiver and speak into the included microphone to activate many of the most commonly used commands.

Expanding on Pioneer’s philosophy to enable consumers stay connected, MirrorLink opens the door to new smartphones like the Nokia and Samsung phones that feature MirrorLink technology. MirrorLink gives you a custom interface so you can access your music, map services and your phone to make calls on-the-go, hands-free of course.
