CD-audio breaks every second down into 75 frames. This can cause for imperfect loops when the peaks and valleys of the waveform don't line up or the loop is simply too long or too short for a perfect number of frames for that tempo. Pioneer has developed a method of interpolation to allow for half-frame timing. This effectively breaks every second into 148 pieces allowing for smoother and more precise loops to be created. The half frames are shown in the display as .5 and the half-frame feature is available for all audio sources, not just CD-audio.
