With a firmware update, Pandora® and vTuner® Internet Radio are now built right into Pioneer’s line of SMA wireless speakers and are designed to help you discover and enjoy new music. And with Pioneer’s free ControlApp, available in the App StoreSM and Google Play®, you can control it all conveniently right from your compatible Apple® or AndroidTM device.

Firmware Update Instructions:
Follow the steps below to update your SMA wireless speaker. You can also download the complete instructions (titled “New Internet Radio Feature”) here.
Important Information
All network setting, including the Pandora account information, will be reset to the factory default after the update. Write down these settings before the update as they will needed to set up the network again.
Step 1: Connect your SMA speaker to your wireless network
Step 2: Access your speaker’s Web Control menu by doing the following:
Windows 7® or Vista users: Click the Start icon on your Desktop and select “Network”. Your SMA speaker will appear as an icon in the explorer menu on the right. Right-click it and select “View Device Webpage”. The Web Control Menu will open in your default browser.
Windows XP® Users: Click the Start icon on your Desktop and select “My Network”. Click on, “Display icons for UPnP devices connected to the network” and your speaker will appear as an icon in the explorer menu. Double-click on the speaker icon and the Web Control Menu will open in your default browser.
Safari Users: Open your Safari browser and click on the Bookmark icon on the upper left side of the screen. Click on “Bonjour List” and select your speaker from the list.
Step 3: From the Web Control Menu, check the unit’s firmware version, which is listed at the top of the main “System Information” screen. If the four digits following the “S” are lower than “1050”, a firmware update is required. If the four digits following the “S” are the same or greater than “1050”, no update is required.
Step 4: Download the firmware and change history files.

Unzip the file and save it to a place on your computer that you’ll remember.
Step 5: From the Web Control Menu, click on “Firmware Update” and click “Start”. Within 2 minutes, the firmware update screen will open.
Step 6: Click the “Choose File” button and find the unzipped file that you just saved on your computer.
Step 7: Click “Upload” and then click “Yes” on the confirmation screen. The update will begin and you can watch its progress from your computer. Once the update finishes, follow the instructions on your computer and unplug the power cord from your speaker.

The firmware is compatible with the XW-SMA1-K, XW-SMA3-K and XW-SMA4-K only. Your SMA speaker and your wireless device must be on the same network in order for Pandora and vTuner services to function properly. Specifications and features subject to change.
