Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. today announced Drive In Autosound the winner of the first annual Pioneer “Give Back” Award. This new initiative honors Pioneer dealers for outstanding service to their communities, and carries with it a $10,000 donation to the charity of the winner’s choice, presented in the dealership name. Pioneer recognized Kevin and Scott Clark from Drive-In Autosound for their support of the military in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colorado.
Ed Sachs, president for the mobile business group of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., unveiled the award winner at the company’s annual dealer road show held in San Diego, California, on Saturday, April 19th. “As Pioneer works hard to engage the 12-Volt community in raising awareness to the consuming public, one outreach about which I feel strongly is charity. Pioneer, of course, is directly involved in a number of charitable programs. However, a way to build on that foundation is to recognize the benevolent work of our customers and the impact they are having on a local level,” he said in naming Drive-In Autosound this year’s “Give Back” Award winner.
“Drive-In Autosound has supported our troops in a number of ways,” Sachs added, “from accommodation rates and financing for the local military community to co-hosting football parties with radio station Kilo 94.3FM at the community event center on Fort Carson military base to active participation in the Military Connection, which welcomes soldiers home from deployment.” The dealership also collected over $5,000 in toys for the local 2007 Toys for Tots Drive at its five Drive-In Autosound store locations.
Pioneer received a number of nominations for the Pioneer “Give Back” Award in its first year. Larry Rougas, vice president of product planning and marketing for the mobile business group, commented, “All of us at Pioneer were gratified both by our dealers’ commitments to their communities and the strong response to our call for nominees.” Sachs concluded, “In keeping with our approach to bring Pioneer’s marketing efforts to a more focused local market level this year, the Pioneer ‘Give Back’ Award just seemed to be one of those natural fits that we could not deny.”
