Pioneer Offers A Choice in Satellite Radio Service With New Add-On SIRIUS Tuner
With the surging popularity of satellite radio due to its wide variety of programming and commercial-free format, Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., the established leader in mobile entertainment products, today introduced the SIR-PNR1 add-on SIRIUS Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) tuner, giving consumers the choice in satellite radio service. Compatible with SAT Ready and most IP-Bus Pioneer head units, the SIR-PNR1 tuner comes equipped with all the installation hardware including the SIRIUS antenna.
“Pioneer consumers now have a choice of satellite radio service,” said Michael Townsen, director of marketing for the mobile entertainment division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “The SIRIUS tuner is compatible with millions of head units with IP-Bus changer controls we've sold throughout the years. Offering an add-on SIRIUS tuner shows our commitment to the satellite radio business.”
Combined with a Pioneer head unit and activation, the SIR-PNR1 tuner accesses SIRIUS Satellite Radio's 120 channels of coast-to-coast digital-quality broadcasts that include music, news, sports and talk radio channels. Pioneer headunits will display channel, artist, album and song names with the ability to scroll.
The Pioneer SIR-PNR1 add-on tuner will be available in January 2005 with a suggested retail price of $120.
