Entertainment at Your Fingertips
Pioneer, CyberTouch and Electronic Video Systems bring a new way of informing visitors about the various entertainment options at Branson Landing.
Branson Landing is one of the nation's most attractive and dynamic mixed-use projects, offering visitors 95 acres of premium retail shopping, dining and entertainment. Situated along the Taneycomo Lakefront in Branson, Missouri, the development also features a convention center, two hotels, tourism center, theme park, luxury condos and a marina.

In order to help 4.5 million annual visitors, a public information system was necessary to help people find their destinations and to keep them updated on current attractions and special events.
THE RESULT: Electronic Video Systems, along with the help of Pioneer and CyberTouch, created, built and installed six separate touchscreen kiosks that could provide visitors with regularly updated digital content of the entertainment center's attractions at their fingertips and on a large-format screen on public display.
"The challenge was to create a system of free-standing kiosks sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of heavy consumer usage that could also be easily updated with new content," said Raun Hamilton, vice president and general manager of Electronic Video Systems. "Pioneer professional DVD players can withstand the eight to eleven hours of usage per day at Branson Landing, and can be updated simply by changing the DVD discs."
Each kiosk features a touchscreen developed by CyberTouch, accompanied by a 42-inch monitor mounted to the back wall of the kiosk that displays clips, video and an assortment of digital content on demand. At the heart of the application is Pioneer's DVD-V8000 DVD-Video Player, directly connected with the touchscreen, which allows visitors to locate specific material about attractions, including descriptions, pricing, and location.
"We needed a product that would be highly durable, versatile and simple to operate, and Pioneer professional DVD players have proven themselves to be very industrial with a mean time between failure of 50,000 hours," Hamilton added. "The DVD-V8000 also offers RS-232C controls, a pertinent feature in this installation that made the connection with the touchscreen seamless."
