This one-of-a-kind silver and teal Scion xB sports only the best “hop ups” available. From the headlights to the exhaust system, changes were made to make this ride unique and different from your run-of-the-mill Scion xB. Topline body kit, Dupont paint, Jline wheels and of-course a Pioneer audio system were just a few of the many modifications made to this looker.
The stock heaudnit that normally powers the entire audio system was swapped with Pioneer's AVIC-D2 adding oodles of features including navigation, touch-screen control, MP3 and WMA playback, satellite radio capability and more. Since the OE radio was a double DIN, the AVIC-D2 slid right in without modifications. Now that's integration.
To properly power a set of subwoofers, a Premier GM-7150M mono amplifier was added to the system. An amplifier rack made of fiberglass was built on top of the right rear window to display the subwoofer amp. The rack was painted the same M3 silver to match the color theme of the vehicle.
The rear seats were disposed of to fit a roll cage and a subwoofer enclosure. A pair of 12-inch Pioneer subwoofers, TS-W306C was used to fill the cab with plenty of tight sounding bass. The enclosure built of 3/4"-inch MDF and finished off with black formica sits directly behind the driver and front passenger seats. A Design Craft roll-cage keeps the passengers and audio components protected.
The deep-dish 18-inch JLine wheels, 8-inch front and 9-inch rear, make Fred's Scion really stand out. The wheels are again a “one-off” with centers that's been anodized to match the theme of the car. Straight from Japan is a unique body kit from Topline. The xB isn't known to produce a lot of power to the wheels so HKS parts were added to give it the “umph” that it lacks.
