Introducing our new Premier® Champion Series PRO Subwoofers, which feature an all-new design and look. Subwoofers that have a maximum power output of up to 3000 watts, as well as a choice of either Dual 2-ohm or 4-ohm voice coils.

The Champion Series PRO subwoofers are designed from the ground up to produce enormously powerful music. Just take a look at its super-heavy-duty construction, all designed to handle up to 3,000 watts max. Add in our patented IMPP cone and you've got a monster sub that can handle whatever you want to throw at it — including Pioneer's new breed of SPL amplifiers like the PRS-D1200SPL.

A Spectacular Reduction in Enclosure Volume

Thanks to the development of stronger magnetic materials, we’ve created a small-sized magnetic circuit with increased magnetic force, which has helped to greatly reduce enclosure volumes. Additionally, several innovative technologies and the use of different materials have contributed to the development of the Air Suspension System, which allows for a substantial reduction in the recommended enclosure volume to much smaller dimensions without affecting the tight bass reproduction.

Big Bass In A Smaller Space 

For its revolutionary 3.25 inch deep Shallow Subwoofer, Pioneer created an Air Suspension system effective within a 70% smaller-than-previous enclosure that locks air for a spring-like effect between main and drive cones moving in unison. The result is a clearer, more powerful, and wider-ranging bass response. The subwoofer's dual cone structure maintains better sound linearity and reliability after hours of hard use than conventional subwoofers with "spider" structures to keep the voice coil aligned. This incredible technology is applied to this new generation of high output, high performance subwoofers.

Keeping Everything In Line 

PRO Series subwoofers incorporate an innovative woven Aramid Fiber with a reinforced radial rubber surround for improved power handling, reduced distortion, increased durability, and louder, more controlled bass. This surround is constructed of three layers; two of rubber and one of interwoven Aramid Fiber. The Aramid Fiber layer is designed with a honeycomb weave, which distributes strength evenly throughout the surround and eliminates any weak points while improving its high power capability. The result is an extremely durable and resilient surround that resists puckering, even under intense power conditions.

The Sandwich Effect 

A subwoofer's surround plays a key role in its overall performance. In order for bass response to be clear and tight, the surround has to respond evenly around its entire circumference without flexing or puckering, even at high volume levels. That's why Pioneer created a surround consisting of two layers of rubber, with a layer of interwoven fiber between them. It's strong, stable, and it reduces distortion.

High in Fiber, High in Strength 

Pioneer invented the process of injection-molding polypropylene to form a speaker cone. We call them IMPP cones, and they're exceptionally strong and lightweight. Now, we've reinforced IMPP with carbon and glass fiber, providing speaker cones with extraordinary strength and rigidity — while remaining light weight. This is ideal for powerful, accurate music. And it gives the cones the durability needed for withstanding heat, humidity, and dust.

Tough, Yet Not So Heavy, Metal 

Designed from scratch by Pioneer, this one-piece aluminum basket assembly holds the motor assembly, cone, and magnet structure securely in place. The benefits of this design include reduced internal stress, superior damping, and increased magnetic efficiency.

A Little Bit Of Breathing Room 

Pioneer’s Competition Class SPL Dual Voice Coil subwoofers now feature a supporting voice coil wire. As a result, it allows the SPL competition level subwoofers to withstand even more extreme conditions, reducing the risk of the Voice Coil wire coming loose or breaking.

Playing With Magnets 

It's simple, really. Follow us here: to accurately drive and control its voice coil, a speaker needs a magnet and a pole yoke, to create magnetic force. The bigger or denser the magnet, the greater the magnetic force. The greater the magnetic force, the greater the power and control that's exerted over the voice coil. To make this happen in a big way, we use a Dual Mass Magnet assembly (weighing in at 83oz.) to significantly increase the magnetic force. SO, you get bigger and more accurate music. And yes, we even included a magnet cover.

Staying Connected 

Why do we use Spring-Compression Binding Posts, instead of standard speaker wire terminals? So your speaker wire NEVER shakes loose due to vibration (either from the road or from your music). When you insert the wire, the connector keeps a constant pressure on it. And it won't let go. These binding posts will accept wire as large as 8-gauge.

Two Voices Are Better Than One 

The Champion Series PRO subwoofers provide two voice coils, each either at dual 2 or dual 4 ohms. So you can use a low-impedance amp to produce much bigger, much more powerful bass. More options, more power: that's what DVC is all about.
