CST

Architectual CST

For home theater or multi-room audio applications that demand an increasing level of performance beyond conventional pivoting driver designs, our Coherent Source Transducer (CST) based models offer seamless integration features as well as demonstrable sound performance benefits previously only found in our TAD™ and EX floor-standing models. Using this driver technology, installation professionals will benefit from a wider, more accurate "sweet spot" and attain more uniform room coverage for both home theater and background listening applications. The CST employs a tweeter, concentrically mounted at the apex of the bass/midrange driver cone to maintain sonic coherence and seamless linearity. This configuration ensures that sound propagates as if from a single point source, maximizing image stability and dramatically reducing interference. Directivity is precisely controlled at all frequencies, and direct and reflected sound arrives at the listener with matched timbre – especially important with in-ceiling speakers where unwanted reflections compromise clarity and impact. Listeners then enjoy a wider sweet spot than they would with pivoting coplanar and coaxial designs, and the CST’s controlled dispersion also increases flexibility and installation options. In short - uniform delivery of sound means that even off-axis positions can promise the excitement of that front row seat.
