perfecting performance and aesthetics

True beauty is more than skin deep, and your new Elite KURO monitor is proof. It has been rigorously inspected to surpass very high standards in both performance and aesthetics. What follows is a brief explanation of some of your monitor’s key characteristics.

Performance

White Balance
True white is the basis for natural color. It creates the exceptional realism necessary to recreate even the slightest nuances and shades of color. Your Elite KURO monitor has been put through comprehensive color correction and balancing for each and every white balance setting, and is equipped for further detailed calibration in the white balance user preference settings. Black Level
The less light a pixel gives off at rest, the deeper the monitor’s black levels will be. The signature series Elite KURO monitor’s idle luminance has been radically reduced. It is a testament to the mission behind the KURO name: to create the deepest, darkest black levels and in turn the most breathtaking picture in the world.
Peak Brightness
The opposite of black level, peak brightness measures the maximum light level that a monitor can produce. Thanks to a revolutionary technology, and a breakthrough application of that technology, the Elite KURO monitor generates unprecedented brightness, while requiring minimal cell priming, which maintains exceptional efficiency.
Phosphor Pre-Aging
Every signature series Elite KURO monitor goes through a factory pre-aging process in which all the plasma cells are turned on and off repeatedly. This stabilizes the phosphor in each cell to reduce the risk of temporary image retention.
Glass Screen and Color Filter
Most plasma screens employ two front sheets of glass, creating secondary reflections at some viewing angels. Pioneer developed a patented color filter which is bonded directly to the first surface glass, allowing this display to use just one sheet of glass. The result is superior contrast even in brighter environments.

aesthetics

Monitor Chassis
This Elite KURO monitor was hand inspected and has passed very rigorous cosmetic quality control standards. These strict inspection guidelines give us confidence that your monitor’s chassis, rear casing and all exterior operational buttons and switches are fully operational and in outstanding physical condition.
Monitor Bezel and Glass
The signature series Elite KURO monitor features an elegant acrylic bezel with a high gloss black finish reminiscent of the finest grand pianos. Scrupulous factory examination is designed to ensure that the bezel is virtually free from any perceptible defects, blemishes, scratches, or other physical imperfections. Meticulous hand and machine inspection further check for imperfections or blemishes on the monitor glass and the bonded color filter.
Terminals
Every terminal and connection on this monitor has been inspected and tested to be functioning properly. This includes checking for conformance with applicable digital and analog specifications as well as the reception and transmission of applicable audio and video signals.
