MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. Drawing from Pioneer’s rich DJ heritage with our passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX takes the music from an iPod, iPhone, or USB device and plays it back with added transitions and effects, creating a virtual DJ inside the AVH-P8400BH.

MIXTRAX works by first having the MIXTRAX PC software automatically analyze a track’s BPM, bar, beat position, vocal position and mood, then adds the analyzed data to the music file. The AVH-P8400BH reads the embedded MIXTRAX data from your audio device as you enjoy precise, full featured non-stop mixes in your vehicle complete with album art that dances to the beat!. You can also experience MIXTRAX as an app for the iPhone 4/4S or iPod Touch (4th Gen) and using Advanced App Mode to control the MIXTRAX app through the receiver's touchscreen display.

HANDS-FREE CALLING AND AUDIO STREAMING

Stay safe and obey local hands-free laws with built-in Bluetooth (HFP). With Secure Simple Pairing, you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the AVH-P8400BH without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units.

If you have a compatible audio player device that also features built-in Bluetooth, you have the ability to wirelessly stream (A2DP) and control audio (AVRCP) to the receiver.

RETHINKING CONNECTIVITY

With AppRadio™ Mode for iPhone, Pioneer has taken the technology from our revolutionary, game-changing AppRadio and placed it in the AVH-P8400BH so you can experience control of compatible apps directly on your dash! When connected to an iPhone 4/4S or iPod Touch (4th Gen) loaded with Pioneer's free AppRadio application via the CD-IU201S interface cable (sold separately), you can enjoy full on-screen access and control of your contacts, calendar, maps, and more with an intuitive interface, formatted and designed specifically for safer in-vehicle operation. Pioneer has teamed up with app providers to offer compatibility with many of today’s most popular in-vehicle apps, while also developing an expanding catalog of compatible apps for future features and functions that can be easily and seamlessly added.

USB DIRECT CONTROL FOR iPOD®/iPHONE®

Pioneer's AVH-P8400BH is ready to roll with direct connectivity to your iPod® or iPhone® for music and video via the optional USB interface cable (CD-IU201S or CD-IU201V interface cable sold separately). Song, artist, time and album information are beautifully displayed on the 7" touchscreen. Powerful tools such as Link Search and Alphabet Search to help you find content faster. The system's wired USB connection provides direct digital signal transfer from the device for clean, clear sound while providing 1 amp of current to keep your iPod®/iPhone® charged.

Dual rear USB ports allow connection of 2 compatible USB devices so you will never run out of source options. For example, you can connect an iPod to USB1 and a compatible USB hard disk drive to USB2.

CUSTOMIZE IT

Select among five (Blue/Red/Amber/Green/Violet) colors for the display and 112 different colors to match unit illumination to your vehicle's interior lighting. Also choose from several background images to suit your mood.

NAVIGATION READY

Easily upgrade to navigation with the addition of the AVIC-U220 add-on navigation system. This versatile hideaway unit allows you you to switch to navigation mode with the touch of a button. Get to your destination by inputting an address or search through the POI library while enjoying whatever source is currently playing.

DUAL ZONE ENTERTAINMENT

The AVH-P8400BH allows rear seat passenger to enjoy audio or video content on additional rear seat monitors and headphones, even while the front passenger and driver listen to audio from other sources or operate navigation functions simultaneously.

The AVH-P8400BH is ready to accept a compatible satellite radio tuner so you can listen and control to your favorite stations wherever you go, direcly from the receiver touchscreen. Currently, Pioneer offers the GEX-P920XM add-on XM Radio Tuner (tuner and subscription sold separately) or the CD-SB10 SIRIUS Bus Interface for SIRIUS Satellite Radio (also requires SCC1 SiriusConnect Universal Vehicle Tuner and subscription that are both sold separately).
