In what position should the crank be when calibrating with a GARMIN or other cycle computer?

The crank should be positioned so that the crank arms are vertical, one side pointing up and one side pointing down. Please refer to the manual for the cycle computer for details of how to perform calibration. The same side should be pointing down for each calibration. We suggest that havingthe right side pointing down is more convenient for most riders.
