How do you update the firmware of the DDJ-SZ?


Download the update file.
For Windows:
Download and save the [] file in a random directory like Desktop.
For Mac OS:
Download and save the [] file in a random directory like Desktop.

Unzip the downloaded file.

For Windows:
Unzip the zip file to find the folder named [DDJ-SZ_vxxx_Win] and the following files in it.
1. [DDJ-SZ_UP.upd]
2. [DDJ-SZUpdater.exe]
3. pcupdate.dll

For Mac OS:
Double click to unzip the [DDJ-SZ_vxxx_Mac] folder.

- xxx is numerical characters of the new firmware version.
- Depending on your computer settings, the extension such as .exe or .app may not be displayed.

Connect the DDJ-SZ to your computer using a USB cable, ensuring that the power cable and USB cable are securely connected to the DDJ-SZ. Power your laptop with an AC adaptor rather than battery power.

Activate Update Mode for the DDJ-SZ.
While pressing the [SHIFT] and [SYNC] buttons on the left deck, press the power button.
Once Update Mode is activated, the LED at the top of the MASTER level meter will flash.

Launch the update program.
For Windows:
Double click [DDJ-SZUpdater.exe] to launch the update file.

For Mac OS:
Double click [] to launch the update file.

Select the language you want to use and click [OK].

A dialog box will appear showing the currently installed firmware version and the update version. If the update is newer, click [Start] to begin installation. If the currently installed version is already the newest firmware version, the update file will not launch. Close the dialog box and exit installation.

When the firmware update is installed, a message will appear. Click [OK] to complete the process.
When all the LEDs of the MASTER level meter on DDJ-SZ are lit, the firmware update is completed.

Turn off the power of the DDJ-SZ and then turn it on again.
