How do you update the firmware on the DDJ-SB?


Download the update file from the product page.

Unzip the downloaded file.

For Windows:
Unzip the zip file to find the [DDJ-SBvxxx.exe] file.

For Mac OS:
Double click to unzip the [DDJ-SB-vxxx-Mac] file.

xxx is numerical characters of the new firmware version.
Depending on your computer settings, the extension such as .exe or .app may not be displayed.

Connect the DDJ-SB to your computer using a USB cable, ensuring that the power cable and USB cable are securely connected to the DDJ-SB. Power your laptop with an AC adaptor rather than battery power.

Activate the update mode for the DDJ-SB.
Press the power button while pressing the [SHIFT] button and the [SYNC] buttons on the left deck.
Once the update mode is activated, the LED at the top of the MASTER level meter flashes.

Launch the update program.
For Windows:
Double click [DDJ-SBUpdater.exe] to launch the update file.

For Mac OS:
Double click [] to launch the update file.

Select the language you want to use and click [OK].

A dialog box will appear showing the currently installed firmware version and the update version. If the update is newer, click the [Start] button to begin installation. If the currently installed version is already the newest firmware version, the update file will not launch. Close the dialog box and exit installation.

When the firmware installation is complete, a message will appear. Click [OK] to complete the process.
When all the LEDs of the MASTER level meter on the DDJ-SB are lit, the firmware update is complete.

Turn off the power of DDJ-SB and then turn it on again.

Your computer should have a current version of Java installed.
For a PC, you should also have the latest Asio driver installed.
For a MAC, you do not need to have a driver installed. It will be supported as a Plug and Play device.
