Pioneer Adds New Entertainment Options For Consumers on the Go

Two new In-car Multi-media Systems Provide Endless Entertainment

New in-car entertainment systems from Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. put passengers in the driver’s seat, by allowing them to select the entertainment of their choice while on the road.  The Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD and Pioneer Premier AVX-P8DVD in-car audio/video multi-media systems are designed to meet the entertainment needs of front and rear-seat passengers with dual zone capability.  Both units offer front-seat passengers a variety of music options including AM/FM or XM satellite radio and playback of CDs, .mp3 and WMA music files.  They also offer DVD playback while the car is parked or for rear-seat passengers.  Touch panel controls make the systems easy to use.

“In-car audio video products continue to be the ‘must have’ for consumers on the go,” said Michael Townsen, vice president of marketing for mobile entertainment at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.  “Whether you’re entertaining kids or adults in the rear seat, the multi-zone capability of Pioneer’s new AV systems provide optimal entertainment for every passenger in the car.”

The AVH-P6600DVD is a total solution for consumers who want audio and video in their vehicles.  The AVX-P8DVD is designed for a consumer who already has an aftermarket audio system, but would like to upgrade its features and add video capabilities.

Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD

The Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD multimedia audio video receiver is an all-inclusive system that includes a 6.5-inch motorized touch screen display.

Utilizing a 1440 x 234 pixels active matrix LCD display, the unit provides excellent picture quality for DVD movies, navigation and audio information.  Its 6.5-inch menu-driven touch panel display responds extremely quickly and features a new graphics processor that makes the unit simpler to operate.  The AVH-P6600DVD also features a ten-character sub-display that informs the user of source information even when the monitor is retracted.
The versatile built-in CD/DVD player provides playback of DVD video, CD, .mp3 and WMA files, as well as the capability to deliver CD-text and ID3/WMA tag information.  For maximum flexibility, the AVH-P6600DVD incorporates RGB input for addition of navigation, AV Bus input for an optional TV tuner and/or DVD changer, composite input, back-up camera input, optical output and composite output for dual-zone functionality.

Pioneer Adds In-Car Entertainment Options

This high-performance system boasts many of the same features found in high-end home receivers including high power output with MOSFET50 (50 Watts x 4-channel) for powerful sound reproduction, variable sound adjustments with Easy EQ (3-band parametric EQ), built-in crossovers (high-pass/subwoofer) and flexible audio/video connections utilizing three pairs of pre-amp outputs (4-Volts).

The AVH-P6600DVD is available for the suggested retail price of $1600.

Pioneer Premier AVX-P8DVD

The Premier AVX-P8DVD adds an entirely new dimension to an existing car audio system by offering a large 6.5-inch touch screen display, .mp3 and WMA playback and DVD video entertainment for rear-seat passengers.

The unit can be integrated with any existing system that features auxiliary audio inputs.  In standalone mode, the AVX-P8DVD is a source for playing compact discs, compressed audio and DVD movies for rear-seat passengers allowing the audio to pass through auxiliary inputs. The AVX-P8DVD can also complement an already existing Pioneer stereo, especially in double DIN applications where both units can be stacked on top of each other.  When the AVX-P8DVD is connected to a Pioneer headunit, the unit’s touch screen can control functions of the radio through an integrated bus control (IP-Bus mode).

Much like its Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD counterpart the P8DVD is ready for add-ons such as navigation, XM Satellite Radio, TV tuner and external sources such as video games and a back up camera.  An extra A/V composite output is also on hand for adding rear monitors such as Pioneer’s AVD-W6200 for entertaining rear passengers, all with the touch of the screen.

The Pioneer Premier AVX-P8DVD is available for a suggested retail price of $1100.
