Pioneer Introduces Best-In-Class 43-Inch Plasma Display
PureVision™ Plasma Revolutionizes Industry With Open Architecture and Highest Resolution in the 40-Inch Plasma Class
Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., a leading provider of plasma display products, today introduced its third-generation 43-inch PureVision™ XGA plasma monitor that revolutionizes the industry with its open architecture and unrivaled resolution.
The PDP-433CMX marks the first true progressive XGA plasma display panel in the 40-inch class to achieve a 16:9 aspect ratio, true uncompressed high definition and display a native XGA resolution of 1024 x 768, all qualities that until now were found only in 50-inch and larger displays. Manufactured entirely by Pioneer, the PDP-433CMX sets a new standard for display engineering for the IT and audio-visual marketplaces by providing systems administrators with a versatile tool capable of being integrated in many custom networks and PC environments.
"The technological advances of this product set a new standard for mid-sized plasma displays," said Craig McManis, vice president of marketing for the home entertainment division at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "We combined our in-depth understanding of the display market and our innovative manufacturing capabilities to produce a tool for information visualization that harnesses the most advanced capabilities of plasma to date."
Open Architecture
With the industry's first expansion slot to provide an open architecture, the PDP-433CMX provides systems integrators and resellers with the flexibility to install the plasma in complex environments such as networks or custom mainframes. The expansion slot offers compatibility with DVI, FireWire (1394), TCP/IP and any other analog or digital data signal available now or in the future. With Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) certification, the unit offers built-in Windows and Macintosh support. The 43-inch monitor offers the same open architecture expansion slot technology as Pioneer's industry-leading PDP503CMX.
Best-in-Class Image Quality
Pioneer has taken its continuous emission display technology and enhanced it to offer an exclusive 10-bit sampling per color pixel to enhance image clarity to levels never before seen in the 40-inch plasma class. The advanced continuous emission display allows for better rendering of low- and mid-level details and overall image quality. Characters and images appear clearer and more natural through the process of digitizing the plasma display's signal processing. Picture quality and pixel-by-pixel sharpness are evident, even in bright locations.
Developed using Pioneer's deep encased cell structure technology, the PDP-433CMX increases peak brightness levels and display detail by preventing light leakage from adjacent cells. In bright applications, Pioneer's unique true color filter reduces reflection from external light, resulting in bright contrast that is more than 150 percent higher than the previous generation. The PDP-433CMX offers increased peak brightness levels, color reproduction, and enhanced contrast, while providing compatibility for a wide range of high-definition computer signals. The unit can accurately display PC signals ranging from 640 x 480 (VGA) to 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) signals.
With multiple power save modes that can significantly lower power consumption, the PDP-433CMX has earned the international Energy Star certification. Power control functions enable selectable operating power levels, including long-life, high-brightness, and energy-efficient modes of operation.
Ideal for installations requiring the ultimate image quality but where space limitations demand a mid-sized display, the PDP-433CMX can be employed in a wide array of applications, including videoconferencing in executive boardrooms, training centers, point-of-purchase digital signage, or information kiosks in public venues. The PDP-433CMX meets Class A & B FCC certifications. Weighing in at only 69 pounds, the PDP-433CMX can be easily mounted on walls and ceilings horizontally or vertically in showroom, trade-show, or exhibition settings.
Now available and shipping, the manufacturer's suggested retail price of the PDP-433CMX is $11,500.
