Overview

The BDR-207MBK drive is perfect for system builders, for those looking to upgrade to a Blu-ray burner, for those wanting to back up irreplaceable files using as few discs as possible, or for those who already have software.

The BDR-207MBK is an internal BD/DVD/CD burner from Pioneer.  This burner can write up to 128 GB on a single BDXL Quad Layer disc (equal to 27 single layer DVDs).  The drive is also backwards compatible, so it can read and write to most DVD and CD formats. Click on the "Specifications" tab to see all supported media formats, as well as the read and write speeds achievable.

Want to watch Blu-ray 3D titles? Well the BDR-207MBK drive is 3D capable. All you need is 3D playback software and a 3D display system and you're ready to go.

Running out of hard drive space? Afraid of losing your valuable files when your hard drive crashes? With BDXL Blu-ray discs, you can store the equivalent of 27 single layer DVDs on a single disc.  Now you can have a backup you can trust and with as few discs as possible1.

The BDR-207MBK drive has features such as a QuickStart which enables the disc to be ready 42% faster, a Noise Suppression design to minimize noise, an Anti-Dust design to increase durability, and Precision Writing Technology to minimize write errors. And of course being a Pioneer drive, the BDR-207MBK drive supports a wide range of blank media.

Drive Features

Store more data
…Up to 156% more data storage capacity than a 50GB Dual Layer Blu-ray Disc. The BDXLTM format supports BDXL Blu-ray media (including 128GB Quad Layer (QL) and 100GB Triple Layer (TL) Blu-ray DiscTM).
Watch 3D movies
The drive is 3D capable.  All you need is 3D playback software and a 3D display system2.
Faster burning
First in the industry to realize 12x writing on BD-R discs, Pioneer can now achieve 12x writing on BD-R Dual Layer (DL) discs.
Get to your files faster
The amount of time between inserting a disc, and that disc being ready has been reduced by 42%.

A quieter drive
With our redesigned disc tray structure, the airflow in our drives is smoothed and operational noise reduced. Enhancements such as tunnel-like air intakes and ducts, plus a  smoother interior to the drive suppress noise and provide a quieter experience.
Increased life expectancy
The sound barrier design that traps noise inside the drive also works to keep dust outside the drive. This makes the drive much more dust resistant than previous models and drive failure due to dust is practically nonexistent.

Wide blank media support
Pioneer strives to have best in class performance over a wide range of media – our drives achieve this for a large variety of BD and DVD media. Refer to the drive’s media support list for all supported media and the write speed that can be achieved.

Top quality writing
Our chassis' design maximizes disc stability and write quality by reducing warping at high speed caused by disc vibration, especially on the outer areas of the disc.
